How do you move freight?

Treinsit’s focus right now is to utilize our key partnerships with Class 1 railroads to move freight across the US. We offer door to door service for truckload dry van freight but are working on expanding this further. We want to give everyone access to the rails.

Why Railroads?

While North American Railroads do have a ways to go when it comes to the rest of the world, they still are superior when it comes to trucks in every way possible. Trains are the least carbon intensive (according the congressional budget office) way to move goods and people. They can run 24/7 and, thanks to physics, they use less fuel and require less resources then trucks. Rail has for a long time been known as too slow compared to trucks but that is actually changing. Thanks to the fact that railroads are seeing a drop in business, they have had to adapt with new express intermodal trains to compete with trucks. Our belief is that rail is the future and hopefully things will only get better as we help move more business towards this transit medium.

Do you have tracking?

Yes! We strive to right the wrong we see across the industry. Carriers hate tracking and Customers need it but rarely is it accurate. Our goal is to ensure you are kept up to date on where your shipment is. We can track it both to the railyard, on the train, and on its way to your destination. Keeping you up to date on where your shipment is at any moment.

Are Shipments Insured and Covered?

All our shipments are insured and fully covered. We are a fully licensed broker and our partners we work with on both the Rail and door to door side are as well. Our Shipments have a full $1,000,000 coverage and claims process to ensure that if anything goes wrong, you are fully covered. Overall, our experience has been that it is extremely rare to have issues but you can have peace of mind that we have your shipments covered.

What areas do you cover?

We can cover the entire lower 48 of the US right now. Getting your shipment from origin to destination by rail. Treinsit is working on expanding this further to Canada and Mexico in the near future!

What kind of trailers do you use?

We move freight in 53-foot shipping containers, built to the exact same cubic-foot capacity as a standard dry van. From your perspective, nothing changes — the space, fit, and handling are the same. Behind the scenes, we leverage our rail network and partnerships to move those containers efficiently, without you worrying about terminals, transfers, or anything in between.
